When I first wrote a post about nursing-friendly tops, I was 36 weeks pregnant. These days I’m not nursing anymore, but I still remember how hard it was to find breastfeeding-friendly tops that weren’t:
a. super expensive
or
b. very obviously maternity or nursing clothes.

I still wanted to dress in normal, on-trend clothes. But finding tops that made it easy to nurse felt weirdly difficult. One day, I was browsing Amazon Fashion and realized there are actually a lot of tops that work great for breastfeeding—especially for fall and winter.
Amazon Fashion: Nursing Style
Shopping for nursing-friendly tops can be frustrating. But thankfully, we don’t have to live in the maternity section just because we’re breastfeeding. With the right pieces (and sometimes a layer or two), you can still dress like yourself.
When I shopped for breastfeeding-friendly tops, I always looked for easy access. Think:
- Buttons
- Zippers
- Wrap styles
- Oversized necklines you can pull down
Layers can also help if that’s your style. A nursing cami under a regular top is a popular option. You simply pull up the top layer and pull down the cami.
Personally, I didn’t always love layering. I usually preferred tops that worked on their own, so I could just wear a bra underneath.
Since the weather is getting cooler, I rounded up some cute breastfeeding-friendly tops that are perfect for fall and winter. Honestly, I wish some of these options had existed when Rowan was born in 2015.
